The Platinum Tools Pocket-Size PoE Detector is a compact tool designed to detect PoE (Power over Ethernet) end-span and mid-span voltages on network cables. It features bright LED indicators that provide immediate "GO/NO-GO" detection, making it easy to assess PoE networks. The device allows for direct cable connection through its built-in RJ45 jack or can be used with the included patch card to detect voltage in wall jacks. The PoE Detector differentiates between end-span PoE power, which is supplied from PoE switches or routers, and mid-span voltage, which is supplied by injectors. End-span detection indicates voltages are found on pairs 1/2 and 3/6, while mid-span detection shows voltages on pairs 4/5 and 7/8, allowing for efficient and accurate network assessment.
