Product Overview

The RP40 is a multi-technology card reader designed for customers upgrading their current card system from HID Prox to iCLASS® credentials. With the RP40 reader, the customer has the ability to transition to smart cards over time while incorporating the use of multiple card technologies within a single building or across multiple facilities.

Unlike contactless smart card serial number readers, with the RP40 multiCLASS™ reader, you get enhanced security through mutual authentication and data encryption.

  • Interoperable with a growing range of technologies and form factors including mobile devices.
  • The iCLASS SE platform’s Secure Identity Object® (SIO®) data model provides an extra layer of encryption for additional protection of identity data.
  • Uses Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) for secure communications between reader and controller.
  • Designed for door applications requiring a mullion style mounting
  • Supports a broad array of credential technologies and a variety of form factors
  • Configurable to support HID Mobile Access®
