The Honeywell Home 7945-2GY is an XTP surface mount magnetic contact with leads. The 7945-2GY looks similar to the 7945 contact but there is a major functional difference between the (2) commercial contacts. The 7945 contact is a Form A, SPST, normally closed device, while the 7945-2GY is a Form C, SPDT, normally closed or normally open device. Different alarm control panels require different types of contacts so be sure to check your alarm control panel’s installation guide to see if you should use normally open or normally closed devices when wiring your zones. The maximum contact rating for the 7945-2GY is 100mA at 28VDC.

The Honeywell Home 7945-2GY uses leads instead of terminal screws to wire the contact to a zone. The 6’ CLII cable lead has (2) wires which you will need to splice to your zone wiring connection. You will need to surface mount your 7945-2GY commercial contact but it does have a wide magnet gap of 2.5” which is ideal for certain commercial applications. The 7945-2GY contact operates at temperatures as low as -40° F and as high as 194° F.
